INTRODUCTION
Global Medical Recruiting seeking qualified and experienced candidates on behalf of the Child & Adolescent & Family Service Development Project at the Camali Clinic. Clinic located in Dubai UAE. The aim of the project is to provide coordinated high quality, multi-disciplinary mental health services to children and young people. Clinical experience with children and adolescents a requirement in order to be considered for this vacancies. UK qualified (or alternatively Western qualified) applicants invited to apply.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Purpose of Job:
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health & Family Service aim is, to provide co-ordinated, high quality, multi-disciplinary mental health services to children and young people. The service provides assessment and treatment to babies, children, young people and their families from 0 – 18 years, who presents with mild to complex mental health and emotional difficulties who reside in the United Arab Emirates Dubai. The clinic aims to provide a tier 2 and 3 service with an outlook of expanding to a day hospital and tier 4 in patient provision.
The Occupational Therapist will provide a comprehensive assessment, formulation and intervention service to young people and their families within the specialized CAMHS team.

The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within a multi-disciplinary team. This will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management. Their professional practice will be accounted for through appraisal and audit.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly as the service will operate from 8am – 8pm, including Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical responsibilities:
To provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service in Child and Adolescent Mental Health in order to promote the health and wellbeing of patients, with the primary aim of enabling participation in activities of daily life.
To manage a caseload of clients with highly complex needs, using evidence based clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To work with clients to identify Occupational Therapy goals as part of an overall care plan.
To monitor and evaluate treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of the intervention.
To undertake specialist global risk assessment incorporating clinical presentation and behaviours.
To undertake specialist sensory assessments where appropriate, to assist in the sensory profiling of service users
To act in a specialist capacity when assessing environment and its impact on client functioning.
To provide lead specialist OT advice within the interdisciplinary and interagency teams and to co-ordinate multidisciplinary procedures when required within service.
To provide support and advice to families.
To demonstrate advanced level skills in group facilitation and the use of creative therapeutic interventions.
To communicate written and /or verbal information, which may be highly complex and sensitive, in a skilled and sensitive manner to the young person, their families and/or other involved professionals within the team or externally in accordance to the internal consent, information sharing and confidential policies.
To recognize child protection issues and adhere to local policy and procedure identified in the clinic.
To manage own caseload using clinical supervision and collaborative teamwork to help within this process.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimize waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.

Policy and Service Development:
To keep accurate records of clinical work following internal policy and guidelines and to supply written reports as appropriate.
To bring to the attention of the service lead consultant, situations which cannot be adequately supported or managed.
To adhere to local policy and procedure.
To keep abreast of and participate in current/future trends in child and adolescent mental health.
To participate within service development tasks pertaining to your field of interest.

Training and Development:
To be part of relevant teaching programmes which takes place within the service.
To be responsible for identification of own needs for professional development, training, maintaining professional registration and to discuss with clinical supervisor.
To attend regular clinical supervision as agreed.
To participate in the clinics Appraisal and be committed to ongoing Professional Development.
To perform all duties in a professional manner and to follow the Code of Professional Conduct applicable to your profession.

Clinical Governance
To be actively involved with the audit process and the evaluations and monitoring of personal work and the work of the service.
To be aware of the up-to-date research and evidence relating to the care and treatment of children and young people with mental health problems.
To be involved in audit and research projects undertaken by the Team.

ABOUT GLOBAL MEDICAL RECRUITING.

7. Assist you with Verification / Credentialing (Clinical Staff) and all recruitment requirements.
8. Liaise with the employer regarding issuing of your entry visa into the country.
9. Advise you on when it is safe to resign.
10. Book your flight and meet & greet at the airport.
11. Be in contact with your after you start at your new employer and assist with any problems / further requirements.

ABOUT THE EMPLOYER
Camali Clinic The patient population will be aimed at both local residents and expatriates. The service will be Consultant led, within a multi-disciplinary team framework. The service will adopt a bio-psycho-social approach to the care and treatment of young people. The service aims to provide assessment and treatment to babies, children, young people and their families from 0 – 18 years, who presents with mild to complex mental health and emotional difficulties who reside in the United Arab Emirate. The team members will be highly skilled within their chosen profession and able to recognize and respect the values, beliefs, customs and language of Dubai’s culturally rich and diverse population. Cases to be treated: Mood difficulties, Anxiety disorders, Attachment Issues, Self Esteem difficulties, Phobias, OCD, Transitional adjustment difficulties, Trauma, Loss & Bereavement, Emotional difficulties related to school e.g bullying, Mild to moderate behavioural difficulties, Social skills deficits, Mild to moderate self-harm, School refusal, Anger management, PTSD, Drug & alcohol, Nocturnal Enuresis, Autism / Aspergers, ADHD, Eating disorders, Severe self-harm and suicidal risk, Psychosis, Conduct disorder, Severe depression, Bipolar affective disorder, Sleeping, feeding and behavioural difficulties in under 5 years that result in severe disruption of family life and development, Genetic syndromes, Psychosomatic conditions, Learning difficulties. All treatment will be evidenced based according to the NICE guidelines and will include: Medication prescribing & monitoring, Applied Behavioural Analaysis, Psychological Intervention, Family Therapy, Speech and Language Assessment and Treatment, Occupational Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Family therapy and family-based interventions, Mindfulness, Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Behavioural Therapy, Psychoeducation. The service has two main aims: Provide assessment to children and adolescents where there is neuropsychiatric disorder, or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Offer intervention when indicated following the assessment of child/adolescent and their families where there is a diagnosis and their symptoms are impairing on their functioning within their social, educational or family environment.

Skills:

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Degree in Occupational Therapy
HCPC Registration or equivalent
Evidence of continuing professional development
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Relevant post-graduate training, short courses and personal study on child development.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years post qualification relevant post registration experience.
Experience of working in a CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) setting.
Demonstrate a high level of understanding of Child & adolescent mental health OT theory and approaches.
Experience of working in a community setting
Demonstrates high standards of written
Communication to ensure clinical outcomes are reported appropriately.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Teaching & presenting experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Broad clinical skills and an ability to demonstrate appropriate use of models of practice.
Observation, time management and organisational skills.
Ability to self-motivate.
Ability to accurately assess and provide appropriate intervention.
Ability to work in partnership with an MDT to meet the needs of individuals
Experience in running groups within a service. To ensure group programme meets the needs of the patient population.
Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional settings.
Commitment to multi-disciplinary team working
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Experience of working within a multicultural framework.
AGE: Not exceeding the age of 54.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English essential. Arabic speaking preferred.
BOARD CERTIFICATIONS: Only Dr's
LICENSURE:Licensed in country of origin.

Benefits and Other Informations: CONTRACT PACKAGE
A competitive expat package will be offered according to your experience level and qualifications.
You will have opportunity to discuss expectations in this regard with the interview panel during interview. The Probation period will be six months.
Compensation will be comprised of one of the two following options:
1. Commission based, whereby the candidate is entitled to 50% commission of total billable earnings.This entitles candidate to potential higher earnings, but no benefits, such as paid annual leave or annual economy return ticket, are included. Benefits included: Medical insurance and licensing, visa costs.

OR

2. Fixed base salary (level based on position and experience) up to 60% utilization (22 billable hours per week) plus 40% commission. Benefits included: 20 days paid annual leave. Annual return economy ticket. Medical insurance. Licensing and visa costs.
