Logestic Dept. Manager
Key Accountabilities:

1. Ensures efficient, reliable, and timely execution of all external logistics services (shipping, unloading, bonded warehousing, customs clearance, in-bound land transport & free zones) for all BUs at the company; scope of External Logistics excludes internal handling (movement of goods among warehouses) and out-bound land transport, which is the responsibility of Warehousing Management
2. Supervises the establishment and periodic updating of accurate plans for external logistics activities based on input from internal users, ensuring that logistics activities support and do not delay the operations
3. Monitors the quality, cost, and efficiency of the movement of goods
4. Responsible for the safety of goods during transport, and for obtaining adequate cargo insurance coverage
5. Implements safety procedures for logistics staff (especially transport & distribution) Not applied
6. Produces the annual consolidated external logistics budget
7. Coordinates with the Order Planning, Procurement, and Warehousing functions for the timely and cost effective transport of purchased goods to warehouses
8. Works closely with the Insurance Department to ensure proper insurance coverage for logistics activities
9. Develops a base of effective service providers to meet current and future supply needs of the company, and manages logistics service provider relations effectively
10. Interfaces with official bodies (customs authorities, etc.) for the facilitation of external logistics processes
11. Maintains good relations with the internal customers of External Logistics, including resolving any high level issues that cannot be resolved at lower management levels
12. Develops and institutionalizes external logistics policies, processes, controls, and know-how
13. Identifies and tracks KPIs (cost, duration, end user satisfaction, etc.) for external logistics, institutionalizes best practices, and devises plans and initiatives for improvements, including automation
14. Provides support for the professional development (including training) of external logistics, free zones staff and managers
Qualifications:
- Not less than 7 years of experience in a similar position of managing a team
- Working in the automotive industry is a plus
- University degree
- Any relevant post graduate studies is an asset
- good command of English language
- Computer proficiency (MS Office & E-mail)
- experience with all logistical areas (marine, land, air)
- experience with Insurance laws & regulation at all aspects
