Job description:

Candidates are invited to apply for the LABORATORY SR. TECHNOLOGIST position in Doha, Qatar. The position is available at a hospital which is part of a Medical Corporation which is government funded and provides 95% of healthcare in Qatar through a network of hospitals.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To select and carry out appropriate Laboratory investigations on clinical samples as requested by the clinical services determined by review of Clinical details.
Undertake full range Mycobacteriology cultures and analytical techniques.
Analyzing cultures grown from samples and perform routine and special diagnostic procedures.
Review and update SOPs as and when necessary in consultation with Clinical Microbiologists/ Scientists.
Can undertake and/or give assistance in the Evaluation/Validation of new methods and equipment.
Assists in new methodologies, automation and working practices, managing procurement and implementation in conjunction with the Laboratory Head, manager and Clinical staff.
Review and undertake technical validation of all microbiological results and reports.
Be able to guide the technical staffs in the performance of quality control and routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

Skills:

EDUCATION:
Minimum: BS BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE.
Preferred: BSc. with MSc in Molecular biology.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8 years’ experience.
OR 5-10 years of continuous working experience in a senior position of Micobacteriology/Molecular Biology.
Advance computer skills.
Priority will be given to staff with experience in the Micobacteriology/Molecular Biology accreditation process.
